The month of Thanksgiving!

It has been so long since I have had time to sit and post... I mean I have gone on a roadtrip to Dena's wedding with Sarah Jean, survived another summer of Resort Ministry, and entered into a fall of birthdays, trips, and wedding planning and events to lead to Sarah Jean's Wedding...not to mention work, church, friends and my other daily activities.... I knew last April that starting with Dena's wedding I just had to get through October 20 (SJ's wedding) and my life would be calm, maybe a little boring again lol... but now I can pick up my hobbies once more, such as blogging ;)

AND what better day to begin then on November 1, the month to remember all the things you are thankful for.  You should remind yourself daily but it is nice to go through this month and once a day think about something you are truly thankful for, something different daily, but something different you can thank God for... it helps put things in perspective and I think that may be what I need right now.... and I was doing it once a week anyway so why now do this for November... and it begins on a Thursday (since I took my original idea from Emily's Thankful Thursdays) so it just feels fitting :)

Okay, November 1:  I am thankful for..... Joy and the Woods... they are always there when I need them here in Orlando.  Since day 1 when I moved here in 2008 and I am thankful for them in my life.  Joy always makes me laugh but always brings things from a easy going practical standpoint AND she is super creative and can make anything out of nothing.  That teacher in her is amazing and she has a little baby boy who is soo stinking adorable and I get to spoil him.  and The Woods, through thick and thin, have been my Orlando family, they have taught me what a family is.  The times when you celebrate, the times you grieve, the times you disagree, and the times you work for Christ all together and always knowing no matter what, that you each have each others back and will be there when needed.  Also, now they have an infant grandson I get to be like an aunt too, so another munchkin to spoil.... ;)  I wouldn't have survived without the Wood family or the Mackey family... the two families that embraced me when I arrived and four years later are some of the friendships I cherish the most.
